A JOURNEY TELLING STORIES AND MAKING PEOPLE LAUGH

Raised on a steady diet of Marvel Comics, Monty Python, Science Fiction and Action Movies from the 80s and 90s, Andrew Bowen is a multi-talented and award-winning actor, writer, director and producer. Bowen’s infectious sense of humor, gift for comedy, abilities as a filmmaker and deep passion for movies, has been the driving force behind his more than 3 decades of work in the entertainment industry.

After watching the movie Grease, at age 6, Bowen announced to his parents that he wanted to be like “John Travolta” when he grew up. Never veering off course, Bowen immersed himself in musical theater growing up in Vermont. Along with appearing in over 14 musicals he studied modern jazz and ballet for over eight years. His first professional acting role was playing George Stark in the Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss comedy What about Bob? Hollywood the began to take notice of Bowen after his hysterical turn playing the ‘Jim Carry meets James Bond’ character of Jack Fremont in Capcom's live-action video game Fox Hunt. His work in the game led to a development deal with Warner Brothers Television, that eventually led to his big break, being cast as a series regular on Fox’s Mad TV (where his impressions of Keanu Reeves and Nicolas Cage are still legendary).

After his stint on Mad TV, Bowen continued finding work as an actor, appearing in dozens of TV series, Independent films, and over 150 national commercials. To date, Bowen has worked with industry legends including Gale Anne Hurd (Aliens, The Walking Dead), Dean Devlin (Independence Day) James Mangold (Logan, Ford VS Ferrari), Lasse Hallström (What's Eating Gilbert Grape) - and starred opposite actors from Uma Thurman to Kathy Bates. Some notable acting credits include Matlock, Blumhouse's Holidays, All for Nikki, Conjurer, NCIS, NCIS:LA, Shameless, Cold Case, Leverage, Reno 911, Magic City and ER.

Also a successful voice-over artist, Bowen has lent his voice to brands from Lexus, Jeep, NAVY and McDonald’s - to numerous video games, including Star Wars: The Old Republic, Saints Row, and his hugely popular work voicing Johnny Cage in Warner Bros global franchise Mortal Kombat (X, MK11, and MK1).

On the other side of the camera, aside from studying screenwriting at USC, the numerous productions Bowen worked on, provided him with an incredible education in film production, from writing and directing, to budgeting, editing, production design and more. That (and his love of character-driven storytelling) led to writing numerous screenplays, directing a Spider-Man themed short film titled Lone Defender - and eventually making his directorial debut with the moving, poignant and powerful exploration of male friendship in the late 90s, titled Along The Way. The independent film, was embraced by audiences, received strong reviews, and enjoyed a thriving festival run (which included winning Best Feature by a 1st time Director, at the Wilmington Independent Film festival).

After taking a break, to raise his three children, Bowen got back behind the lense in 2018 to made the wildly successful, comedic, sci-fi, action short film The 716th . Written, directed, produced, edited, production designed and starring Bowen (with a budget of only 10K), the short film World Premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The widly fun, crowd-pleasing short, recieved rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, and was released on Amazon Prime later that year. The Short has enjoyed a phenomenal run on Prime (raking in over 12 million views and builing a large and enthusiastic global fan base) - and has led Bowen to meetings with Skydance, Netflix, Jerry Bruckheimer Productions, Legendary Pictures, Marvel and more - who’ve expressed interest in his future as a filmmaker.

In 2023 Bowen formed Anatomic Pictures, with fellow The 716th VFX Supervisor and Producing partner, Jon Alvord - and executive producer Daniel C. Allison (DCA). Anatomic is developing a large and dynamic slate of film & TV projects including the psychological thriller/Creature Feature Scent (which Bowen wrote and is attached to direct), and an expanded TV Series based on The 716th, which Dean Devlin and John Rogers have come on-board to executively produce.

In 2025, Anatomic will be releasing The Director's Cut of Bowen’s Award-Winning, directorial debut, Along The Way. The film, which recently screened at Cannes Film Festival, was digitally remastered in 4K, from its original 35mm negative, and features an entirely new edit by Bowen. The film represents the definitive version of Bowen's powerful love letter to Generation X.
